Wave passage effects on seismic response of multi-support structures
Random vibrations of a bridge structure under propagating, seismic excitations were considered. Joint effects of pseudostatic and dynamic vibrations were studied. Detailed numerical analysis of a four-span bridge modeled as 3D frame under kinematic wave excitations with an oblique angle of propagation has been carried out (see figure below). A sensitivity, first passage analysis has been carried out to study the joint effects of propagation velocity & angle on the response.
