Random vibrations & reliability of slender towers under seismic excitations
This research was devoted to the analysis of nonstationary random vibrations of tower shaped structures under seismic vibrations. Peak response and first excursion probability were calculated. It was confirmed that failures of chimneys during earthquakes occurs at about 2/3 of their height.
